The short version

We collect your name and email when you join, and we use them to tell you about meetups. That's the whole thing. No newsletter. No selling your data. No tracking. No surprises.

What this covers

This page explains what Riviera Maya Tech Builders collects, why, and what happens to it. It applies to anyone who visits the site or submits the join form — whether you RSVP to a meetup or just browse.

If you just browse the site

We don't track you. We don't run analytics that profile individual visitors. The site loads a few standard resources (Bootstrap for layout, Google Fonts for typography, Tally for the join form) — those services may set basic cookies to function, but we don't use them to identify or follow you around the web.

If you fill out the join form

When you submit the form to join the community, we collect:

  • Your name — so we can address you like a real person, not "Dear User."
  • Your email address — so we can reach you about upcoming meetups and community happenings.

That's it. We don't ask for your phone number, your company, your LinkedIn, your job title, or anything else. If the form asks for more, it's optional and we probably added it temporarily for event planning — it doesn't change how we handle data.

What we actually do with it

We use your name and email to:

  • Let you know about upcoming meetups and builder events in Riviera Maya.
  • Send the occasional community update — a new chapter opening, a venue change, something worth knowing.

We do not run a newsletter. We don't have sponsors to promote. We don't send weekly digests. If you hear from us, it's because there's a real meetup coming up and we thought you'd want to know.

What we never do

  • Sell, rent, or trade your data — not now, not ever.
  • Share your information with third parties for their own use.
  • Send you ads, sponsored content, or anything you didn't sign up for.
  • Build a profile on you beyond what you gave us.

The tool we use to collect it

The join form is built with Tally.so. When you submit the form, your name and email are stored on Tally's servers on our behalf. Tally is bound by their own privacy policy and doesn't use your submission for anything outside of delivering it to us. We access your responses through Tally's dashboard — nothing more.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as you want to be part of the community. If you ask us to remove you, we'll delete your information within 7 days — from our records and from Tally. No runaround.

Your call

You can, at any time:

  • Stop hearing from us — reply to any email we send and ask to be removed. Done.
  • Get deleted — email us and we'll wipe your data within 7 days.
  • See what we have — email us and we'll tell you exactly what's on file. No mystery.

If this changes

If we ever change how we handle data in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We won't do anything surprising with your information without being upfront about it first.
